Chantal Rutjes Skin Cancer 2024

Chantal Rutjes

I successfully completed a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in "Skin Therapy" in The Netherlands in 2018. During my studies, I gained an interest in skin cancer and research. As a result, I completed a 3-month traineeship at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute's Dermatology Research Centre in Brisbane, Australia, in 2017. After finishing my degree, I moved to Australia and started working at the Dermatology Research Centre as a clinical research assistant in 2019. My work mainly involved completing VECTRA WB360 3D imaging study visits, data entry and data management. In October 2021, I became a full-time PhD candidate at the Dermatology Research Centre. The focus of my project is on objective melanoma risk assessment using 3D total body imaging and Artificial Intelligence. Current research includes testing and validating existing Artificial Intelligence models integrated in the VECTRA WB360 3D imaging system, and the development of a Deep Imaging Phenotype.
