Thomas M Elliott
Mr Thomas Elliott is a health economist at QIMR Berghofer and holds a Masters in Health economics and Bachelor of Biomedical Science. Thomas has 10 years’ experience in applied health economic research in areas such as Genomic interventions in infectious disease, dynamic simulation modelling within hospitals and the financial burden of cancer. He is currently working on a multi-year project quantifying the harms and benefits of sun exposure. Within this project, he is using dynamic simulation to model the effect of ultraviolet radiation on skin cancer, eye diseases, osteoporosis and multiple sclerosis. His research interests involve modelling complex health systems like in hospitals or behavioural prevention interventions. He has experience analysing large datasets from MBS, PBS and hospital databases. He has co-authored around 22 peer-reviewed journal articles.
