Focus: Occupational dermato(onco)logy & allergology, including the implementation of systematic interdisciplinary approaches to the prevention of occupational skin diseases with an emphasis on workers’ education strategies & health literacy (“Osnabrueck model”). Member of the ILO “Core Experts Group on the Guidance Notes on Diagnostic and Exposure Criteria for the Occupational Diseases List” and expert to the WHO “InterSun project advisory committee” as well as lead reviewer to the ILO/WHO global burden of occupational diseases project (WG 4: “Systematic review on the burden of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer attributable to occupational exposure to ultraviolet radiation”). Author of >500 papers (h-index 54) and lead-editor of major textbooks in the field, e.g. Kanerva’s Occupational Dermatology, Springer. ILDS Certificate of International Leadership 2023.
