Michelle Johnston
Dr Michelle Johnston is a rural GP and GP Liaison Officer at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where her aim is to find solutions within a complex health system.
She is the clinical lead of the GP with Special Interests Program which has been running for 5 years and employs 30 GPs within outpatient departments, including dermatology and plastic surgery. The aim of the GPSI program is to improve integration across the hospital and primary care health systems. They work within consultant-led specialty teams and are a very effective workforce, improving access to care.
